Physically dramatic, the 104 sq kilometer landscape of the Reserve features rocky battlements, craggy scarps, dry river beds and fallen boulders rising out of the thorn scrub against a backdrop of the far-distant hills and the great red table mountain known as Lololokwi.

After breakfast we drive to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. One of the four private game reserves in Kenya, Sweetwaters excels in the provision of privileged seclusion and private game viewing. Home to all the BIG 5, the conservancy has the largest wildlife to area ratio compared to any other Kenyan National Park. It also houses the only Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Kenya and the largest Black Rhino Sanctuary in East Africa. We visit these during our game drive. Check in followed by lunch. We laze and gaze at the animals that come to drink at the waterhole located just opposite our tent and by evening we head out on a game drive. After breakfast, it’s an hour’s drive to cross the Equator where we experience the Coriolis Effect on either side of the earth’s hemisphere. This afternoon we take a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park often described as the world's biggest ornithological spectacle. This lake is famous for its flocks of over one million Greater and Lesser Flamingoes. The abundance of these birds is due to the alkaline mineral salts in the water, which support vast blooms of the blue green algae and diatoms on which the flamingoes feed. Lake Nakuru National Park was the first place in Kenya selected as a rhino reserve. Here is one of the few places where we can see Rothschild's giraffes. The Masai Mara game reserve, a 1,500 sq. km slab of open Savannah dotted with acacia trees-the Kenyan section of the wildly beautiful Serengeti plains, teems with wildlife. Being in the Mara has been described by some authorities as ‘’ being in the New York of the natural world’’ You will spend the next 03 nights here to explore. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant.

It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.

After breakfast, we pass by a Maasai Cultural Village to learn how they live, later on; proceed to Lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. The highest of all the Rift Valley lakes, Lk. Naivasha is a beautiful shallow freshwater lake fringed by thick papyrus reeds. The waters of the lake draw great array of bird life to its shoreline. Buffalo wallow in the swamps, whilst the large hippo population laze their days in the shallows. Giraffe wander among the acacia, whilst the Colobus monkeys swing from the green canopies above. Lunch followed by a sundowner boat ride along the lake that is home to more than 150 different birds, from the predatory Fish Eagle to the Glossy Startling. Naivasha-Nairobi- 110km – 1 ½ hrs Nairobi-Amboseli- 250Km- 4hrs After breakfast at the lodge, we drive to Amboseli National Park arriving in time for lunch at the camp… Amboseli National Park provides the classic Hollywood image of Africa. Set in rolling savannah scenery it is dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro which, at 5,896 meters, is the highest free-standing mountain in the world and topped by one fifth of all the ice in Africa. Against this magnificent backdrop roam vast herds of elephant accompanied by a kaleidoscope of other fabulous beasts -lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle hippo and wildebeest to name but a few. There are also over 400 species of birds, all manner of reptilian, flora and fauna and some of the most soul-searing views in Africa. An early morning game drive allows you to become better acquainted with Amboseli and its wildlife. Wherever you travel within the park you will remain under the watchful gaze of the imposing Mount Kilimanjaro. Full day game drives in the park with picnic lunches. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. The most famous and largest of Tanzania’s national parks is the Serengeti. The Serengeti ecosystem extends beyond the national park to include several other conservation areas and reserves, including the Masai Mara in Kenya. It is through these extensive protected areas that a million or more wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra and gazelles complete their great circulatory migration in search of green pasture. Where there is such a large mobile meat supply there are predators and Serengeti is renowned for its impressive lion sightings. Silver-backed jackals, spotted hyenas, cheetah, eagles and vultures are also avid consumers of this endless source of meat and little goes to waste. Serengeti means ‘endless plains’ in Masai language. Much of the landscape comprises vast open savannahs dotted with acacia trees and few rocky hillocks. Enjoy breakfast on the open plains before spending a full day game viewing in the Serengeti. It’s not unusual to find twenty to thirty lion in a single pride resting under the shade of acacia tree! The annual wildebeest migration is the greatest wildlife show on earth with several millions of wildebeest and zebra trekking north to the Masai Mara while the cheetah and hunting dogs follow closely behind. Ngorongoro crater is a natural amphitheatre created about 2 million years ago when the cone of a volcano collapsed into itself, leaving a 100sq. mile cauldron-like cavity. This caldera, protected by a circular unbroken 2,000 foot high rim, contains everything necessary for Africa's wildlife to exist and thrive. Game viewing vehicles descend the steep crater wall every morning and spend the day on grass plains that are teeming with animals. Predators such as lion, spotted hyena, leopard, jackal and cheetah lord over a domain that swarms with zebra, wildebeest, gazelle and other herbivores. Tanzania's few remaining black rhino are regularly sighted in the crater, as are large herds of buffalo. In the lake on the crater floor and in the Ngoitokitok swamps, reside plenty of hippos who remain particularly submerged during the day and graze on grass at night.
